Our Team

Lisa Lee, has been teaching in Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in China for many year before teaching in U.S.; she has been teaching fashion design and fine art related classes for more than 20 years in U.S. Many Hollywood stars like her designs and many of her students were accepted by well-known colleges and universities with scholarship.

Dr. Wei Cao is a professor of Apparel Design and Merchandising in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. She received a Ph. D. in Textile/Apparel Product Development from Florida State University, an M.S. and B.S. from Xi’an Polytechnic University with emphasis on Clothing Design and Textile Design. Her research foci are on the performance evaluation of textiles, medical textiles as well as functional clothing design. She has been published in journals such as; Textile Research Journal, International Journal of Clothing Science and Technology and book chapters published by Woodhead Publishing. She has also received funding from Cotton Inc. and China-Hemp Investment & Holdings Co., Ltd.

Shirley Mask Warren is an educator and a seasoned fashion industry professional with over 20  plus years  experience in the luxury ready to wear industry.  Ms. Warren experience in luxury began with retail titans Bullocks Wilshire, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Ave, luxury lines Donna Karan, Hugo Boss, Michael Kors and Anne Klein.  In her role at Donna Karan Ms. Warren was instrumental in increasing revenue, creating customer initiatives, product proliferation strategies, and expanding distribution on the west coast.   After more than a decade of hands-on sales, creating client initiatives, buying and management she decided to return to school to pursue her Master’s Degree in Apparel Design and Merchandising (ADM) at California State University Northridge (CSUN).  While working on her masters Mrs. Warren developed a passion for teaching and is currently a faculty member at CSUN, Apparel Design and Merchandising internship coordinator and advisor to TRENDS ADM student fashion organization.

 AS advisor to TRENDS, she assists her students in creating two major events per year; the annual fashion show and career symposium. At the annual career symposium, Mrs. Warren help students identify the most effective speakers in the fashion industry to speak to students, motivate them, and give them true perspectives on professional practice in their field.  The TRENDS annual fashion show is every spring. Through her connections, the much-awaited annual fashion show on campus, is very well attended and is a portal for students to showcase their work in the senior apparel design studio. The show has now grown to be a vehicle for bringing together ADM students at CSUN and the Los Angeles apparel industry. The show has grown exponentially over the past several years, accumulating a campus and community-wide following of fans. 

Mrs. Warren expertise, knowledge, and love of the fashion industry, has given her a dynamic acuity of this fast pace, constantly evolving environment.  She is a passionate leader and educator who takes great pride in inspiring the next generation of fashion industry leaders and professionals.   She brings to her students a passion for the industry, unmatched knowledge, and networking resources to set her students on a strong path toward professional success after graduation.

Mrs. Warren exhibits a strong work ethic and a willingness to dedicate herself to the overall development of her students - academically, professionally, and personally. She is one of the most respected student advisors in the Apparel Design and Merchandising option and is well respected by students and colleagues alike.  She is a friend, guide, mentor, and professional resource for her students; and they respect her for everything she offers them.  It is well noted that she is the epitome of a working professional with true grace and impeccable style.

Terry Chao

Terry Chao, Gerber Accumark CAD Instructor, has been teaching Accumark CAD for 38 years. She has been actively involving in fashion industry in Los Angeles for more than 27 years and has been well known in the industry.

Celine Kao, graduated from ESMOD Fashion School in France, and has Master's degree in Art from Fontbonne University, St Louis, Missouri. Many years of teaching in college and working in fashion design field; she is well known and has great influence in the fashion design field.

Marine Boyadzhyan started her educational career at Glendale Community College in 1984 and transfer credit units to California State University Northridge in 1986. While at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) she showed excellent performance in designing unique museum wearable fashion art.

 

In 1988 Marine Boyadzhyan has been elected president at California State University, Northridge, in Family& Consumer Sciences Department, of Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society and has been rewarded for excellent leadership. She became a member of American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) Association and Tempo Apparel Design and Merchandizing Association while in CSUN.

 

In 1990 she successfully completed her Bachelor Degree with 4.0 GPA at California State University Northridge, Family and Consumer Sciences, Fashion Design and Merchandising area.

 

In 1989 she did her internship at Warner Brother’s studio and continued working there as Assistant Designer and was part of the designing theme, designing costumes for the movie ET.

 

In 1991 she started her experience in industry, working as a Designer at Felicity Apparel Design Company.

                                                                            

In 1993 she worked in Hella Barbara Rank Couture Design Company, designing one of a kind couture design gowns for wedding, evening and cocktail.

 

In 2000 she wanted to fulfill one of her goals and started her career in a theatrical stage costume world, as a Designer and Stage Manager for a Theatrical Play C.E.O. performed in Hudson Avenue Theatre in Hollywood, California, for West Coast Premier performances. She designed costumes for modern plays.

 

Marine Boyadzhyan went back to school to continue her education to fulfill her other goal, which was teaching.

 

In 2004 during her master’s degree program at California State University, Northridge, she was elected as a vice president in Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society again. Marine Boyadzhyan won scholarships from AAFCS Los Angeles and California Affiliate Chapters.

 

In 2006 she has designed “International Collection” line and the design theme was historical famous monuments and sites from the USA, France, Egypt, India, Greece and Japan.

In 2006 Marine Boyadzhyan was a recipient of a Gold Medal “Heritage of Excellence” from the president of CSUN.

 

In 2006, she was offered to teach a class at California state University, Northridge, in Apparel Design and Merchandising.

 

She completed her Master of Science, in 2007, at California State University Northridge, majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences/ Fashion Design and Merchandising.  

She was the Award winner for 12th Annual CSUN Student Research and Creative Works Symposium, November 30, 2007.

 

Since 2006, she became a lecturer at California State University, Northridge, teaching Apparel Design and Merchandising courses.

 

In 2008 she was offered to teach Master class, Basic/Advanced Draping, in Apparel Design and Merchandising area, Xian Polytechnic University,

China

 

While teaching at CSUN she also published textbooks for college students in Apparel Design and Merchandising area.

 

She is the author of books:
